I am actually quite worried as I spoke to the simple assessment line a few days ago & there appears to be no record on there of my state pension, private pension or any savings interest for 23-24.  Just hope they aren't going to decide I'm dead & stop my pension.  I will try to be patient but it isn't one of my better qualities!

I think you must be another person where the cleaner answered.

Not sure exactly what the "simple assessment line" is but if a Simple Assessment hasn't been issued I'm not sure what you expect those people to be aware of 🤔

The longer it takes for your Simple Assessment to be issued the longer you can be earning interest on the money HMRC should have.

Given we are now at the end of November you already have about a month's extra interest which can be earned on the tax you need to pay 🙂

There is a separate number for simple assessment  0300 322 07835.  What was really worrying me was that it may have got lost in the post & could be heading for fines.  Although I think I read somewhere that they don't fine for late simple assessment payments but I find that hard to believe.  I just found it strange that it was already 4 months later than usual.
