Wrong will sent

What a clump I am! I’ve just been notified that I didn’t send the original will, only the certified one. Having not dealt with anything like this before I thought the certified was the all important one. My brother, the other executor l, had the original which I was unaware of. Will this delay our application by very long? It took them 16 days to acknowledge receipt of the other one.

If this is going to the probate office it may delay it a few days while the proper one catches up with the application1

be careful sending the original now as you don't want it to get lost
if you have a reference number then obviously you should put that with the will so that the application and will can be matched up
saying that I would wait until their contact you and say 'please send the original will'0 -
I think they have been notified. I wonder if there is any chance of delivering it by hand and getting the certified copy back from them?km1500 said:be careful sending the original now as you don't want it to get lost

I was notified via email of this error and I’ve posted it back to them via special delivery with the reference number. I will ask them to send the certified one back. Thanks for your replies
