Morning folks and thanks GERS. The snow is coming down thick and fast here, although the forecast says it's to change to heavy rain by mid morning when Bert gets here.. What weather this week.
I had a lovely morning with SIL yesterday at the GC. Much catching up done over coffee and a toasted t.cake in the coffee shop.. We had a browse of the gift shop and Christmas shop but our purses stayed shut. I'm staying put today if the weather is going to be as bad as they say and I might finally trundle round with the duster and vac!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. TAFF oh poor you. You seem to be going through the wringer just now. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning allThe neighbour who's tree fell into our garden is coming with someone today to get rid of it after a few false starts but it looks like it's going to rain on and off all day here so I'm expecting him to call it off.The breadmaker is out so a fruit loaf is on the cards. Making a start on tomorrow's shepherds pie and will make some cupcakes as I have some lemon curd left over so at least it'll be warm in the kitchen today and can hang off from putting the heating on until later.Hope you all keep safe and don't get any damage if you're in the path of Bert today.Have a good day to all x13

Hi everyone
Tipping it down and windy here though I think we’re in the periphery of Bert.
I have a craft fair in a nearby village - I think it’ll have to be waterproofs to unpack the van and then get changed! I certainly don’t want to be damp all day. I haven’t done this fair before but it’s for the local cancer fundraising group and usually well supported so just hope the weather doesn’t put people off.Hope you all have a good day and stay safe warm and dry

Morning All
Not very nice this morning, there's rain/sleet rattling down but it's to turn to just rain later I think.
Bedding in the WM and I've re-made the bed. Just about to take the last few things out of the kitchen apart from the table, the painters will have to work around it as it's too heavy for me and probably won't fit through the door without being taken apart. Can't say I'm looking forward to it but needs must and I've waited a few months for them to arrive.
Hope your craft fair goes well Allie.
Fingers crossed you turn a corner soon and feel well again taff.
Stay safe Gers, looks like Bert could be quite bad with you.
Glad the little one is doing well dp1.
Pleased to hear you're settling in Coxy.
Hope you get your medication sorted Nanny.
I've got a bit of a cough and funny throat which started yesterday, hoping it goes away as I'm going to the Panto with DD and family tomorrow (oh yes I am!). It's the first time for the little one, hope she enjoys it.
Hope you all stay safe and dry this weekend, take care. XX13 -
Morning all from a windy seaside corner of Kent. Our local village Christmas event today and a two day craft fair in next town along that we can walk to.
I’m enjoying myself putting up our lights etc to lift the gloom 🎄

Am out of bed, dressed and downstairs. It's really a day for staying in bed but I just can't, it's annoying. When I was in my late 20s to mid 30s I could stay there all day (and night).I got my new will signed yesterday and gave it to the postie when she called in the afternoon. My visit to my friends was very brief as the roads here were very slushy and I was worried about them freezing. Lunch was more of the left over casserole with a big pile of veggies.Today isn't even open to whimsy, it'll be batten down and stay put. I've pulled the front door curtain across it. The curtain is heavy duty wool material with a thick lining which the wife of the chap up the hill made me years ago, it hardly gets any use but lovely to have. As it's so heavy I bought some pull rods for each side, these make opening and closing them so much easier.@Ruby - I was thinking about your OH's hip op next week. When I had mine done in 2019 the best aid I bought was a sock aid tool, it was invaluable. And I practised putting on my knickers and trousers using a grab handle.
That was a skill!
Hugs to our ongoing poorlies, life isn't pleasant being ill in winter. Keep warm everyone.13 -
Good morning all, wind and rain here.
Yesterday was a strange day. It started off with a power cut and then when the power came back on the internet went off. All was sorted by the evening. I ventured out to get supplies, we were running out of staples. It was so difficult driving, the roads were wet/icy and the sun was reflecting off of them. All done now so we will batten down today.
I got a message from my bf, her and her OH are on a 30 night cruise around the Caribbean, and are currently in Grenada where she says it's so hot. Her OH was diagnosed with heart failure earlier this year so they are making memories while they can.
Off to persuade big dog out, wind and rain, no chance!
Have a good day all, take care Gers and all in Bert's path.13 -
Morning everyone just wrote a long post and it’s disappeared we are cut off at the moment all roads closed we have heavy snow but it won’t be for long heavy rain forcast later when storm Bert arrives. We are cut off too although the snow seems to be easing i think.. Roll on the rain! Text off DD telling me the friend getting married today is distraught as the hairdresser and florist can't get through with the flowers. The poor girl is distraught. What a day to be getting married xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10

Morning all,
More breezy here at the moment, but higher winds are due, not surprisingly the big Christmas fair has been called off. I feel for the organisers and all the children who were going to be on the floats, they must be so disappointed. I will take a look later to see about donating to some of the charities who will be missing out from their fundraising stalls.
It will be a quiet day of staying in, I started with a cold on Wednesday evening which has left me feeling a bit down in the dumps, so I need to give myself a talking to!I have got my grocery shop arriving shortly, so that will be good to get the fridge replenished.
Take care all of you. X
