So if you then take the money off the card via an ATM (assuming your card is completely in credit) then you can deposit that into a current account and transfer it to your friend. If you try to send the money directly from the card to your friend then you will be doing a money transfer and that will incur a fee - maybe 5% or similar.
If you don't have the available credit on your card that you owe the friend then you will be potentially be getting a cash advance that will incur an ongoing charge of 25% or 29% until it is cleared.Hi. My credit card balance is zero. The money will go in giving me full available credit from the refund.I've never withdrawn from an ATM with a credit card, but the amount will be too high to withdraw.I just did a quick Google on doing this and it says withdrawing cash on a credit card will affect my credit file too (and I keep that in good order)
It looks like there's no options open to me really. From my original post:"I'd really prefer to send the money to them (without it going into my bank account and then back out again)"Thanks
As he writes above, we don't need to know his/her reasons although it does appear that he/she only has the bank option.Thank you.0 -

The option is that once the card is in credit you have the balance refunded to your current account, then transfer it to the friend. Is there a reason you are so averse to that option?
Is this a thing? Can you transfer a credit balance on a credit card to your current account? If this can be done fee free then isn't that a way to stooze from credit cards using 0% fee free balance transfers like the good old days?

AML..
Credit cards are not designed to work in the way you want. 🤷♀️
So you could spend the credit on your normal monthly spending & send the funds from your banks account, or transfer from bank to PP & then send to them.
