Hi, I have received a similar letter for parking in a similar place. Am I better off just paying the extortionate fee of £100? I've only just received the letter so have lost the chance to pay the reduced rate

I keep reading conflicting advice, some people say to ignore it they won't take you to court and if they do you will probably have to pay £170 max. Others say if you don't pay it they can and will take you to court where you could end up paying hundreds. Just seems so scammy, what's to stop me putting a similar sign up and then charging delivery drivers, tradesmen and neighbours who use my drive to turn round

Can you start your own thread, one case one thread.
will need to know the location, and if it is adopted.
Plus where have you heard ignore it?

It isn't conflicting unless you read rubbish from clueless people on social media.

Ignore it and ignore the threatograms.

Still unsure that we are right?

Just click on the words underneath the little red 'MSE link' in the small 'Parking Ticket Appeals' banner at the top of this page which leads to the MSE Guide to fight PCNs.

Same info is shown in both this forum and in that Guide, as regards the debt recovery letters being a futile stage and ignoring these demands being risk-free as long as you don't miss or ignore a Court Claim (easy to defend).

Consistent advice here is easy to find and not just from random strangers. The MSE Guide is official 'Martin Lewis backed' advice.

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok thanks guys, I've read the newbie post and have read some of the posts concerning CPM. I won't bother starting a new post as similar posts have been made before like this one. I have just received another letter saying "Final chance before action". I will ignore and see what happens.
