On further reflection I would go back to the Ombudsman because it is probably easier to claim for time and trouble.I would start a separate thread on here discussing how much to claim and the exact phraseology to use before doing so.0

And perhaps I should add that you do not appear to need any more evidence. According to the SAR that you have posted, the 6000 series of meter readings end on 26 Apr 24 and the 8000 series start on the same day. For some reason BG have charged you for the difference although it is obvious that gas consumption cannot account for the discrepancy..1

I've also just found a letter from the other supplier with a final reading before the account return to BG, dated 25th Apr 24 and 2000 lower. Which means BG say the meter jumped 2000 in a day.brianposter said:And perhaps I should add that you do not appear to need any more evidence. Edit to clarify the 2000 meaning.1 -
Still going! The boiler manufacturer say the boiler would have to be running at maximum for 32 days straight in order to have used the amount of gas they claim I used in that period. BG say it doesn't matter: that once the Ombudsman has made a decision then nothing can be queried, and not even new evidence makes a difference. Eurgh.0

How can they genuinely argue that last year was not an error:

You are not bound by decisions of the ombudsman. You can reject the decision. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
And you can go to the small claims court too. But if the Ombudsman decision was accepted, you'll likely need a good explanation as to why that was the case.Ectophile said:CazeryBird said:Still going! Why are you talking in terms of the billing period ? The smart meter readings supposedly show that you used about 1700 units in one day. Please show us your proposed submission to the small claims court. Three A4 pages should be sufficient and most of that should be your claim for compensation..0
