Hi,

I have an MacBook Air, about 10 years old, I've seen that some Pages files, which are one page long and don't contain anything fancier than maybe a bullet list, are 1 mb. Does that seem large to you?

The bigger picture here is that that laptop if getting full so I'm always on the lookout for deleting or compressing files.

1MB is not large. 1000/1024MB is 1GB.

Even on ancient dial up internet thats under 3 minutes to download and just a couple of second on the average

internet speeds these days.

I am in the (slow) process of sorting out my photos and videos, and should have them archived off my laptop which I think will help. Is adding more storage to a MacBook easy? I'd obviously use a professional

You can't add more but on older MBAs you can replace the existing drive with a larger one... modern MBAs the SSD is part of the motherboard so cannot be replaced.
