Continuing Motorbike NCB

Hi Guys, need advice on basically how to carry on my NCB without a bike.
I've gathered 7 years NCB, but it was nearly 2 years ago I last had a policy.
After 2 years I usually lose the NCB, which of course I don't want to do.
Is there any way I can just create a fake policy or insure on a friend's bike in order to carry on the NCB until I do eventually get another bike?
Thanks

Fake policy? Absolutely not.
See what your ncd is worth in £s. Probably not worth paying a premium to keep it alive.0 -

Most insurers require the insurance to be in place for a substantial period before they'll issue a new NCD, if you cancel it in the first few months they typically just give you back the evidence you provided to them so doesn't extend the timescale.
1st, do two quotes as if you were going to buy you "fake" policy, one with 7 years NCD and one with 0 years to see how valuable the NCD really is. Discounts are much lower than they used to be because it's a bit silly given the vast majority of people have maximum NCD.
2nd, if the above shows there is a big difference and you've space to store a bike then buy the cheapest bike you can find, it can be a non-runner. SORN it to avoid other costs and insure it.1 -
In the past I have bought a cheap frame with a V5C to keep my bike NCB alive.
Just shopped around for the cheapest policy I could find for that.
Something cheap and from a model that's cheap, plentiful and cheap to insure.
Something like a CG125. (see Ebay)
Don't forget to keep it SORN'd.
I butchered the frame and just kept the head stock which had the frame number stamped in it as at the time I lost my lock up and no where to store anything.
All you need really is the V5C, I just didn't want to bin the frame with any identification on it.

How much money do you want to spend, in order to save how much?1

Buy the cheapest roadworthy bike you can find and insure it. Job done.
What are you doing without a motorcycle anyway?1 -

Buy an accident damaged frame from ebay, get them to cut it up and just sent the stamped frame bit. You'll get the V5C and the frame number.
SORN It.Insure it (1000 miles)dispose of correctly when you are ready to get back on the road. Dont forget to SORN it (i was fined).1 -
