Santander prize draw

Options

I’ve received an email from Santander ‘others have most likely received the same email’.

Spend £500 on your debit or credit card during a set period to go into the prize draw.

The T&C’s state, one entry per card and one prize per person.

So, could I use both my 123 Lite debit card and my Edge debit card and get 2 entries and if so, I would assume if I was lucky and both cards won a prize, I would only be allowed one of them.

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

  • I found the conditions very vague I have paid +£500 into my NS&I savings account using my debit card and I don't even know whether that stands as an entry for the prize, I hope so

    Yes.

Hard to tell. The "like" means they can eliminate any entries that they consider "not purchases".

The prizes are very vague too. Holiday vouchers (how much?), Apple bundles (containing what?), Movie experiences at home (no idea what that is. A home cinema system? A coupon for a free movie from Amazon? A month's subscription to Now Movies?).

Just did a bit of digging around;)

The home cinema system prize is a £1,500 Currys voucher + some other goodies.

The Apple bundle is an iPhone 15 pro, MacBook Air, Apple watch, Air Pods, a Home Pod mini speaker.

The holiday voucher is worth £1,500.

Lapland trip is worth £6,000 and is for 2025.
  • Thanks for this, missed the email.

I don't use my Santander debit card at all. A £500 "spend" topping-up a Revolut account with a debit card is good enough for Halifax to give me £5/mth, I'll do the same here.

Don't suppose there's any mechanism to acknowledge a successful entry.

Forget all that load of tosh, there's a Hotel Chocolat hamper!

Has anyone managed to find out who the winners were in this draw? I've just been searching around and I can't find them

They wouldn't necessarily name them, it's a competition and people might want to be private

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Perhaps the winner’s have not consented to being named. There was a clause in the T&C’s that allowed them to decide if they wanted to go public.

The winner’s surname and county will be available on request after the draw for 365 days subject to the winners consent.

The winner’s information and winning entry (if applicable) must be provided to the Advertising Standards Authority on request in the event of a dispute.

If the winner consents, the promoter may publish their name and photograph for the purpose of publicity.

Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

I haven't bothered looking. The cynic in me wonders if these draws run by banks ever actually take place.
