Now back - it's very cold with a hard frost but at least it's dry.
I went out to our High street yesterday and trawled the charity shops, didn't buy anything though. There were lots of Christmas jumpers and sparkly tops, fair enough it's nearly Christmas!
I just bought a few groceries, went to Morries as it's the nearest supermarket.
In the afternoon I finished off a bit of sewing and tidied my main sewing box. That was it for yesterday really, apart from the usual jobs.
We are going out for lunch today with a couple of friends, haven't seen them for a while so it will be nice to catch up.
Hope everyone is ok and has a good day, take care folks.13 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, enjoy your lunch out.
I had a good catch up with friends after work yesterday, food was lovely but I ate too much! The house was freezing when I got in so had a nice hot bath to get heated up.
Friday again, hoping to hear from the painter today. Looking forward to my early finish!
Happy Birthday to Esther, hope they are feeling better now.
Take care. XX12 -
Morning all. Thanks for the start @Scarlet, enjoy your catch up lunch. The pool session was good yesterday, I always try to work extra hard to keep up my strength. My only problem is getting my bra on afterwards. 😀 It sticks so much. I met briefly with a business consultant doing some work at the pool who seemed very competent so there's hope in sight. Once home I put on a white wash, think I'm converted to a 30° wash, which is now hanging on the airer upstairs. I turned on the dehumidifier for the first time this winter.Today I haven't got any plans in mind. It's all dependent on the weather, if the forecast is OK I may zip up to my friends to get the new (improved) will signed, witnessed and posted off. If it's going to be nasty I'll stay put and make cauliflower and lentil soup. Since making severe efforts to control my food intake I'm doing so much less shopping. Tomorrow's weather is going to be blooming awful so I won't be going anywhere then.I hope that all went well @YorksLass and that the walk and talk was good @SO. Keep warm and safe folks.10

Morning all! Woke at five freezing cold and needing a pee so by the time I'd done that I was wide awake. So got up, re lit the fire, took OH to work, stopped on the way back for a McD's [ no shame] and now I'm waiting for things to open or people to be up to ask for things, like a haircut, and the electrician to come and fit the extractor fan as there's a big hole through the wall into the bathroom leaking in cold air [ I have plugged it, also plugged up the ceiling in half the old kitchen as there's no plasterboard at the moment to still the cold wind coming through the soffits. We are going on a date night tonight [ a new thing because I think it's a good idea and so does he] so we're going to a churrascaria [ caipirinhas here I come] because we both love food and meat especially. I've definitely swiung over the edge into diabetes [ thirsty, losing weight etc] and was instructed to phone a gp asap yesterday....damn my procrastination about losing weight. Apart from that, nothing much happening, washing the flannel sheets we finaly found last night...That's a thought,, how do you keep all your bedding not smelling fusty in a drawer or cupboard? I've tried cedar and Ikea mothball smelling stuff but nothing really works and I absolutely loathe lavender.mehefin, I did think that after I re-read it but then I though someone might appreciate it and they did!
nanny, how awful for her..fingers crossed for good treatment. Take care and sit in a duvet today!

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I suppose it goes without saying it's b.... freezing again. At least we have the storms to look forward to over the w/e!!
My SIL is picking me up this morning to go to the lovely garden centre over the hill. They do a fabulous, and expensive, Christmas shop every year. Coffee and cake will be compulsory! This SIL is the wife of my Bob's younger brother (he was Have recently diagnosed with dementia). When our other SIL (one of Bob's sisters) passed in October the in-law family decided we should all meet up more often before it's too late. Back in happier times we met a lot more regularly at big riotous family Christmas and New Year parties, weddings and christenings etc but this has now been reduced to funerals. Those days will never come back but we will do our best! Bob had a big family and extended family with lots of aunties, uncles and cousins. Much different to my family. Both my mum and ad were the only child, most unusual for the early 1900's, so I never knew what a big family was and these big gatherings took some getting used to! Oh well, I am reminiscing and waffling, sorry about that!
The Friday Tidy never did get brought forward to yesterday and won;t happen today either, but it will be something to occupy me when housebound tomorrow because of the storm! Have a good day folks if you can, stay safe and keep warm. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning
It seems the weather forecast is awry - this morning’s snow didn’t arrive but it came about 8pm last night and has now melted even though we had a yellow ice warning!Shopping to do today plus getting organised for two craft fairs this weekend - not looking forward to unloading in rain and stormy winds!Taff - try tumble drier sheets - I use them in my fabric storage to keep the fustiness away.AA12 -
@-taff I keep scented soaps from TK Maxx in my bedding ottoman, they gently keep the sheets smelling beautifully fresh.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Morning all.
I'm sure we had snow overnight as there's some on the walls and cars but not on the ground. Had to de ice the car at 6.30pm to go out last night too.
Today we are going to a funeral of the wife of one of DH's former work colleagues. I also knew her from Ramblers back when I was on our local committee and did more organised walking. After that I must get down to some serious ironing and tidying up at home as I'm out both days at the weekend.
Happy Friday everyone - stay warm.12 -
Morning from an always reader but erratic poster in Kent
a few little errands to run out and about then back home for us
trying to eat out of the freezer a bit to make room, we have an allotment so plenty of produce in there
have a good day allCarolbee11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
DNephew's anniversary today - 8 years. Still feels surreal
Cold here but no snow, so feeling thankful for that. DH and I will unpack another 10 or so boxes today - mainly lounge and kitchen bits. I'm picking Mum up this afternoon for a visit to the new house and will drop her home around 4pm so she can walk her dog. She isn't the most sociable of people (with us anyway!) so I think a couple of hours will be enough for us both.
I took a trip to Aldi last night but due to a fatal crash on the local motorway it took me ages to get back. Luckily I'd bought some fresh pizzas so dinner didn't take long. Tonight we'll have sticky chicken with rice and pak choi.
Enjoy your date night @-taff x
Good luck at the craft fayre @AlwaysAllie. Mum has one tomorrow and Sunday (same venue but they have an evening event so can't leave things overnight which is annoying). I will be dropping her tomorrow and DSis will collect her and pack up. We will do the reverse on Sunday.
Enjoy your meet up today @TravellingAbuela x
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Coxy xx
