No Claims Confusion

Hi Everyone
Wondering if someone can help me figure something out
I took out a buildings and contents insurance policy in May 22, had made a claim Dec 22.
The claim was open until Nov 23 and I renewed my insurance in May 23 and May 24
I’ve recently sold the property so have cancelled my insurance but when I do eventually need to again - can anyone tell me if I have any years with no claims or not? Is it just 0?

Sorry if this seems like a very simply question I just can’t wrap my head around it (please be kind 🤣)

For those insurers that do offer an NCD the rules vary much more between insurers than it does for Motor, it's simply not as a developed idea. In principle you would have 1 years NCD from the May 2023 policy, you dont get anything for the part year May 2024 policy, however several of the home insurers that do NCD require continuous insurance so having a break with no insurance would invalidate the NCD. For Motor by comparison most insurers accept an NCD up to 2 years old.0
