Morning all,
Another chilly day, had to pop outside as it says Royal Mail delivered a parcel, they haven’t! A little annoying as it is name tags for mother in-law socks, and they are needed as she is in a care home.
Sorry, but I haven’t been able to read all today’s posts yet, I have just started with a cold and my eyes are at that annoying watering stage so I can’t focus clearly.
Today will be a gentle potter around the home, all dependent how I feel.
take care all x

Weather here today is a rinse and repeat of yesterday, bright blue cloudless skies, no wind and freezing temperatures.
Thanks all for the good wishes for today. I'm being optimistic all will be well - surely nothing else can go wrong! I'm all ready and waiting for DS to pick me up soon. We're planning to do Registrar, FD, CS and Sainsburys - it could be a long day. And I have a parcel coming via RM that I hope arrives before we set off.
Happy new sofa bed @Gers. I've also been looking at the latest deals from Hotter but persuaded myself that I don't need any more footwear. Good quality but expensive so I only ever buy stuff from there when it's in the sale.
Bad luck on the vaccuum @Chrisca50.
Wrap up warm for the walk and talk @silver-oldie.
Had a quick trip to the Co-op yesterday for a few bits and bobs. Didn't see any ys items that appealed so nothing extra fell into the basket. Even though I was wrapped up warm, my legs felt very cold so I've ordered some warm Snag tights to wear under my trousers - this will be a novelty as I haven't worn tights for the last 17 years! I hope they're as good as the customer reviews promise. Then in the evening I finished sewing up a knitted jumper, another job crossed off the To Do list.
Virtual hugs to anyone needing or wanting them, keep warm and safe all. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Good morning all,
I'm WFH - my home - today as the WiFi is now switched on. DD is upstairs working from her new bedroom (along with chintzy curtains and matchy matchy border - hilarious) and DH has gone back to our old London borough to sign on. Think this is the last but one appointment for him.
I have a Teams meeting at 11am but otherwise I'm working on complaints for our team, which conveniently they landed on me on my last week. Oh well, keeps me busy!
Will need to hunt and gather something for dinner later. We have two tiny integrated under counter fridges and no freezer, so it's a bit challenging. Just living day to day right now until we get something sorted. Think I've also missed the first bin day collection as only just put it out, oops.
Hope those with frost and colder temperatures stay safe and warm today. Not too bad here in East Kent just yet.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Hi everyone,
It was Esther's birthday yesterday. She and Esben are both full of cold so we had a quiet one. To compound the problem she didn't nap yesterday so by tea time she was fairly glum. She perked up when we did the cake and sang happy birthday to her. Her face was wreathed in smiles, she loved being the centre of attention. She's gone unhappily to nursery today, she is quite happy there but hates the transition.
Steve is golfing and Brian is at work so I want to take advantage of a quiet house. I have to go to the shops then do a bit of baking. I also want to paint Esther's advent drawers ready for filling.
Stay warm and have a good day.

Hello all, it's freezing here 🥶 and we've still got a snow warning ! I've got the heating on and my blanket over my knees but I still feel cold. I don't know why it's affecting me so much, perhaps it's because I've got older and a bit tid.
Yesterday I found out that my friend and long standing neighbour of many years has been diagnosed with womb cancer. Years ago I had all three of her littlies at school and she's such a lovely lady who is always the first to offer help so I hope she'll be ok.
I phoned my cancer nurse too and I have been taken off my cancer meds for a few weeks just to see if they are causing my leg pain. If it's the cause they will change them, if not I'm back to the GP 😟
My day is fluid so far, there are lots of little tasks that I can do but I cba at the moment, we'll see. Tea tonight will be gammon.
Take care all, stay warm and safe if you have to go out.

Late comer here!
We have DGS 13 months today so were up early as he was dropped off at 8.30am. We've been up into town for a toasted teacake and pick up a newspaper but then he fell asleep in the buggy just as we got back. Currently parked up in the hall and still asleep. DH will take him home about 4pm and then we're both out this evening, but to separate places.
I've put some pork shoulder steaks in the slow cooker and it's already smelling nice. Will do a little bit of mashed potato to go with them later.
Off to read the paper whilst there's peace and quiet
Have a good day everyone.

(think they are called red velvet) - and yes, they are as good as the reviews and well worth the cost. I have the lighter granny tights for autumn days though switched to the thicker ones earlier this week. The pool session was tougher than usual, there were fewer people this week, probably because of the weather. I've now got the WM chugging away and I've had lunch. The sky is very odd, perhaps there's snow coming. Certainly Saturday has storm Bert coming through, the forecast is ferocious.

Another vote for Snag. Good sizes that actually fit.... [ cheerlead, cheerlead, right where's my free pair?
