Good morning all
Thank you for the start @-taff
Haven't ventured outside yet but it looks bright, but I'm sure it's extremely cold. We've been lucky, no snow.
Gardener should be with me tomorrow so I need to work out what jobs need to be done. It's mainly clearing things that have died back.
Take care

Morning all,
It definitely is cold out there today, with a beautiful sky.
Sorry to read of so many upsets, cares and concerns, you are all in my thoughts.
I was up earlier today, just weird dreams that wake you up feeling all unsettled, so I always get up, make a hot drink and sit with the heated back pad and my Bible to put me back on an even keel.
Today, I am meeting a friend for lunch which I am looking forward to. I am going to make a start on Christmas shopping, plus buy fat balls and seeds for the birds.
Take care all.

Morning everyone
WE have a tiny sprinkling of snow here - DD says little one was very excited. I expect it will be gone by the time I go to work.
I'm busy sorting a huge bag of Lego I bought for little ones' Christmas present so I'll get on with that this morning. I've bought a storage box decorated with a Lego design so I'm half filling that with the used Lego and have new set to go in as well. Then the rest will go in her box that lives here.
We're having chippy tea at mam and dads later - the first since before little one was in hospital in the summer - she'll be very excited as will my dad!
After work yesterday I went over the road to have a cuppa with someone I worked with for a short while before Covid - she recently moved in opposite me. We had a lovely chat - I went in about 3.30 and when I looked at my watch, thinking I was getting hungry, it was almost 6.30! I was so glad I'd made the effort - I'm quite bad at being sociable!
Right better get on. Hope everyone has a good day x8 -
It's beautifully sunny here, blue skies and not a cloud in sight, but it's freezing! Today's temps forecast at 3 daytime and -4 overnight. The bulk of yesterday's snow has gone but there are odd patches here and there where the sun hasn't reached. At least the roads and pavements are clear. I'll venture out later for my weekly walk to the Co-op for the bits I need but will be wrapping up well.
Yesterday I finished cleaning the kitchen tiles and grouting that I started a while ago but, with everything that's happened, there was one corner that hadn't been done. All finished now. I've moved the butter dish from the worktop to its Winter home - a shelf in the pantry under the boiler - to keep it spreadable. Then I ventured outside to get the gas meter reading, the electric one is inside, and sent them off. It looks as if the bill will be roughly the same as last month which is fine. In the afternoon I gave myself a DIY pedicure while watching a repeat of Midsummer Murders and then did some knitting. Slothful or what!
Today's main task is to gather together the documents I'll need for the Registrar tomorrow and to work out how many copies of the Death Certificate to get - I'm thinking 2 or 3. Fish of some description tonight for tea and a chocolate mousse for afters.
Right, that's enough waffle. Hugs where needed, have as good a day as you can. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.6 -
Morning all!
I am WFH at my DSis's house today as no wifi connection at the new house until sometime tomorrow. The move went well and we were in with the door shut at 4pm. Absolutely shattered but happy to be in. I drove into work yesterday for a meeting which was stood down 10 minutes after I got there (took me 1hr 40mins) so I wasn't best pleased, but I met a friend after work and had my WI meeting. Got home at 10.30pm.... I received flowers, wine, chocolates, and a giftcard for £80 - a multi shop one. Absolutely blown away by that tbh as had only been there 51 weeks!
The house is going to take some work as there are a few things we'd like to change, but we're in no rush. The plan is to semi retire and get part time jobs. We have a good bit of equity in the bank to play with.
I have just caught up on the last few days and wanted to send hugs out to @remmie and @silver-oldie in particular. Well done to @snoozer on that awful procedure too. Happy new sofabed day @Gers.
Stay safe and warm everyone

@YorksLass I found DWP didn't want my DHs DC. Banks and building society just took a copy and gave me back the original. If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.5

Thanks @SO - I think I'll just get the original and one copy. I know I need to send one to where his original Will is stored and I'm guessing/hoping they will photocopy it and send it back with the Will. I've contacted his bank to have his account frozen and they've said I can either call into branch with the DC or send electronically. If the latter I'll have to get DS to help! As for DWP I'm going to use the Tell Us Once service for that, as it also covers Council for housing and CT, Blue Badge etc. I'll be able to return his Blue Badge tomorrow when we see the Registrar as both departments are in the community hub. As for utilities, I'll deal with those in due course.

Good afternoon, sunny, cold and snowy here.
I dont know where this morning has gone. Well, I do really, I seem to have got lots of little jobs that I've been putting off done. I've got steak and kidney simmering away on top of the log burner for a pie tomorrow.
SO, sending hugs to you regarding the situation with your DS. We have a similar thing with our DS. On his wedding day 19 years ago he told us that his in laws were his family now. Not just us, he said the same to our daughter too. We don't have any contact and have only met our grandchildren once, that was at my mums funeral. I am also sure our dil is behind it, but it's a shame if he can't stand up to her. I do wonder how things would be if anything happened to one of us.
Enough gloom from me. Love and hugs to all who need them, take care x
