My personal experience 

Over the last few weeks I have had the heating on night at 16, day 19/20

last night I left it on at 18 and not had to change that today despite cold and snow 

It depends on how warm you want to be, Me I need to be warm

Pretty much what mine is set to. But most nights the heating doesn't fire up, and may only kick in late evening (depending on solar gain). Today has been the first day where the boiler has fired up in the morning and late evening (used around 20kWh in the process).
