Shared ownership - need to complain about severe delays

Please can I ask advice from anyone who has experienced extreme delays trying to staircase buy their shared ownership property?
I have lived in my current property for over 3 years. Following the passing of my lovely mum, I inherited enough funds to pay off the existing mortgage on the property and also 'buy out' the housing association 100% with cash. I started the process in May of this year. I was advised by the housing association, Abri, that it would be a straightforward process for staircasing. My solicitor has my funds ready to buy the property and has done since at least September.
Abri asked me to obtain a RICS valuation which I duly did. Abri said the sale would need to complete by 3rd September or the valuation would lapse and I would need to pay for another one. I was completely ready to go, then my solicitor (who is AMAZING), found missing deeds, missing certificates and a very unhelpful restriction on the landlord's freehold title which neither Abri nor the builder, Crest Nicholson, will produce evidence of. My solicitor has pushed and chased and started (I think) shouting at people to try to get someone to own the problem but nobody will budge. It's been 7 months now and I cannot but the house I ALREADY LIVE IN!!!!!!!
It appears that Crest Nicholson never raised the certificate to cover this unicorn style restriction and therefore nobody wants to take responsibility.
All the while, I am still having to pay monthly rent of over £580 AND I have had to pay for an extension to the valuation (£90) AND I have had to pay my solicitor additional fees (£250) so that she can put some indemnity covers in place to fill in gaps in the existing paperwork!
This is turning into a complete nightmare and I feel like it's never going to end.
Because Abri advised that everything would need to complete by 3rd September, I am loathe to keep on paying rent to them when I have the money to buy them out now. At the very least, I want to make a compensation claim for the additional rent I have had to pay in October, November and for how many more months?
Has anyone else experienced this very frustrating scenario and what steps did you take to get it resolved with your solicitor?

So sorry to hear about your mum, and the problems you've encountered with staircasing. You could try contacting the Leasehold Advisory Service. They offer: "free, summary legal advice to help you decide what to do next".
