My dad's eyes and hands are working very well these days and as it will Christmas soon he has started to do his cards but is struggling writing on the envelopes
A friend mentioned about printing addresses labels out and then sticking them onto the envelopes.
He has about 75 addresses to do so I am after advice on what labels to use and software also and how to input the addresses so I can print them off.
Thanks.

Thanks. If you have access to MS Word (or probably one of the free compatibles), you can create a new document and use the Mailings (in Word), then Labels option and can format it for whatever labels you can get. I used to do it with Avery A4 sheets of labels and it worked a treat.Once the label size is selected, you get a template page showing where the labels are, and you fill them accordingly. You probably can just use an existing list of addresses and convert it to labels, but I never needed to do that.

I've done similar to victor with added twist of doing a bunch with all the "to" labels as well as a batch of "from".
Nothing worse than getting Christmas cards (or anything else special) addressed to someone who no longer lives at the address. This was such an issue with my MiL - after she died I lost all of her addresses somehow and she was still being sent cards from friends from 70 years earlier. As they had no return addresses on them I couldn't contact them to give them the news. Likewise it's 6 years since we moved in here and we still get cards for the previous owners. No idea where they moved to and no return address on the card - I've even gone so far to open them to see if there are any clues inside. Makes me sad as these people's friends might think they have died when likely all they've done is move across town or something.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. We are just updating our addresses and I've checked our supply of labels. The ideal size is A4 7x3 (so you get 21 address labels on each A4 sheet)
We always do a trial run on a plain sheet to make sure the addresses are within the parameters of each label.
If you haven't got MS Word then Libreoffice does the same thing. The Avery template code is L71600 -
Victor2 and Brie thanks for the replies.Neil49 said:We are just updating our addresses and I've checked our supply of labels. The ideal size is A4 7x3 (so you get 21 address labels on each A4 sheet)

I will also look out for the address label sheets and the template for it.0 -
Or you can do similar online using Avery’s online Design and Print Online tool. There are lots of different designs you can choose from. I’m new so don’t think I can add a link but it is avery dot co dot uk then follow the link to Design & Templates. As above, I use the 21 per sheet code = L71600

Obvious tip - when you come to print out your first set of labels, do it onto plain A4 paper rather than expensive label sheets. Mark one side of your plain paper sheet to double-check which way up the labels need to be in your printer's feed tray.
For xmas card (and other mailings) I've found that a spreadsheet of names/addresses works well and integrates well with the Avery software. Is the xmas card list currently held on paper? You could choose to input them into something like Google Contacts (or any other contact software) that allows you to export the data to a spreadsheet or maintain the spreadsheet directly.
