Not sure if this is the correct board, but seems good enough. I know Vinted is aimed at selling 2nd hand stuff, but I've been selling a lot of new stuff on there recently. I can't find an answer to this on their website, but has anyone had any comebacks from Vinted on just selling new stuff? Any warnings they need to sell some used stuff as well?

Firstly I seem to be blocked from replying to this thread and have only posted this by starting a new thread and merging!
It is worth noting that all selling has the same rules, if you sell your own unwanted items then you are not subject to income tax. However once you buy anything to resell , or make things to sell then you are trading and are up subject to the HMRC rules around tax. It is slightly more complicated as we now have a £1000 trading allowance so a lot of very small sellers often don’t need to even declare (although that is total revenue of less than £20 a week). All online sites will be declaring sales over certain amounts to HMRC automatically as well, I’ve already filled out my Vinted form (I don’t trade on there and just sell my own items but still need to complete the form and supply my NI number).
Until recently Vinted did not allow business sellers on there , there is a strict prohibition about commercial selling, also against selling handmade items. However they recently did introduce a pro seller scheme but even that has a lot of restrictions. For a start the FAQs say sellers still aren’t allowed to sell a majority of new items, and there are some strange rules about pro sellers not being able to sell cosmetics and beauty items at all. There are also the strict category rules that apply to both normal and pro sellers.
Vinted seem to catch some sellers much quicker than others, I’ve seen sellers restricted after a few days for selling too many new items at once, but I also see plenty of sellers seemingly trading for weeks with no issue. I was in contact with a seller earlier in the year who was running a very successful business on Vinted, even using business style descriptions and they traded happily for around 5 months but ultimately got banned without appeal.Normally the various people on forums suggest that if you have no items to sell, and even private sellers may have new with tags unworn clothes, or new boxed items they don’t want, that you limit to 3 or 4 listings a day with at least twice or three times as many pre loved items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks Soolin. I don't need to worry about the £1k rule yet, I've only been selling stuff for a month or so, so not anywhere close to that mark yet.
The new items I've been selling are handmade items which are only selling at £6/£7 but looks like Vinted will ban me at some point soon then. I've put a few used items which are my own personal items up for sale too, so maybe that's the reason why it hasn't been picked up yet. Shame, as things seem to be selling better on Vinted than anywhere else! But I felt like it wasn't going to end up as easy as this. Thanks for the info.0 -

Handmade and business selling will likely see you picked up quite quickly as that's 2 broken rules. You might be lucky for a while but it all depends whether you want to risk your account. Once lost they won't let you open another.
The rules on Vinted are quite extensive and not always easy to find.
