Gift to family member with financial deputy

Options
I wish to make a monetary gift to a family member "S" who lives in England.
"S" has a financial deputy.
The deputy, a solicitor, is asking for all sorts of proof of where the funds originated.
The funds were from an inheritance.
I already have "S" bank details, couldn't I just make the transfers?

The person has a financial deputy because they’re having been assessed to lack capacity around their finances. On that basis, it wouldn’t be very sensible to try to bypass  the protective mechanisms that are in place for a reason.
The solicitor wouldn’t want large amounts of money passing through someone’s account that could be money laundering (as an extreme example)  where the person doesn’t understand enough to be able to protect themselves - they aren’t asking just to be awkward.

sometimes people have their own bank account, but only enough money goes into it for day-to-day needs, And the deputy manages the larger amounts.

If it’s an inheritance can’t you just show the solicitor a copy of the will etc? What are they asking  for that seems unreasonable to you.

ETA - I am presuming this is a comparatively large gift, not 50 quid.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

This could result in S's account being bloked if the deputy raises the suspicion of money laudering. The bank will be especially cooperative if the Deputy confirms that you would not prove the source of the funds.

Surely it is very easy to send them a copy of the Will and bank statement where the inheritance was paid to you?
