Your Android device must be running Android version 8.0 or newer. But we still currently support Android 7.0 for existing customers.
I'm on Android version 6.0.1 so they are operating according to their current policy.I opened the account over 5 years ago for the sole purpose of fee-free cash withdrawals abroad so it hasn't been used much. Most of the apps for my various current accounts no longer work but at least they notified me in advance. I hardly ever used them anyway as I prefer to use the desktop PC.

You'd be well advised to get a newer model1 -

GeoffTF said:You can get 6 years of security updates with a Samsung A16 for £200, but it might be getting painfully slow after all those updates.Bit the bullet and ordered the A15 4G running Android 14 (on offer at EE for £129). Only 4 years OS updates and 5 years security updates but otherwise hardly any difference to the A16.0

Google have just announced that the Pixel 6 and 7 will get another 2 years of OS updates and they can be picked up as used for next to nothing including the Pro models, so no need to buy a budget performing phone.
As people have said you shouldn't be installing banking apps on an OS that old and vulnerable.0 -

Security updates:"These phones, including the Pixel Fold, will get updates for five years, starting from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US."A non-starter for me.
