PCN - Defence Submission

Hi, I have been reading many thread relating to CEL PCNs and how to respond to impending court action. DCB Legal have now submitted papers to court. I have received the Claim Form and have submitted an AoS. I am now preparing my defence to send over this week. I have used a lot of what has been provided on these forums and I am very thankful. I have added my specifics and would welcome your views before submitting. I know it is a bit detailed in terms of emails sent and responses - should I leave this in, or just summarise instead? In essence, I actually paid for the parking but was late by c35 minutes due to the app playing up. I did offer a settlement, not admitting guilt but just to get rid of them as I also have a job and a family and this had taken a fair bit of my time. I offered £100, they rejected it and wanted £170. They were basically holding me to ransom and I wasn't having that, so here I am today! Any input, would be welcome.

Hi, this is the POC...0

...and the Issue Date on your Claim Form?2

That POC reason does seem so very vague as to lend itself to a Chan based defence. You could also add Akande like someone else did today.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

JayEFC said:Issue date on the Claim Form is 17th October 2024With a Claim Issue Date of 17th October, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 19th November 2024 to file a Defence.
That's tomorrow.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.3 -
