Hi @YORKSHIRELASS 😀 Your December sounds expensive so that’s good that you only put one expense on credit! 😊 Hope you can make a big dent in the debt this year.
Back to work today after the bank holiday and the girls stripped some more wallpaper whilst I worked. They also played Monopoly, and learned some Turkish words for our holiday 😆 They’ve kept themselves amused. Tomorrow they’ll be with my parents which I’m sure they’ll enjoy.
The minimum payment to the NatWest CC has gone out so we’re at £153.95/£700.00 👏🏼
My friend is having her operation tomorrow to remove the tumour. I’m going to drive down and see her a couple of days later at the hospital as the surgeon said she will likely feel awful on that day and she wants me to be there. Will pick up some bits for her to take with me. She’s been absolutely incredible since she found out - wayyyyy braver than I would be! Though I imagine she’s running on adrenaline right now and the emotions might come out later on. The NHS have been amazing during these last 4 weeks too. Very impressed with how they’ve been with her ❤️
Time to chill with my girlies 💕2 -
My friend is currently in theatre. I’ve been so emotional about it all since I woke up. I don’t know why. Chances are she’s going to be absolutely fine but I’ve been very teary! I know she’s in safe hands though, and that horrible tumour will be out of her very soon if not already. Can’t wait to give her a hug.
Also realised that I should’ve put trigger warnings on my posts about my friend. Really sorry if I’ve upset any readers.
My NatWest switching bonus has arrived, so I’ve sent the £180.00 to my Barclaycard to cheer me up. It means we’re up to £333.95/£700.00 so almost halfway 😊1 -

Thank you so much everyone. My friend’s partner has messaged to say the surgery went well and she’s in theatre recovery 🙂 They think she’ll be able to go home around day 4 rather than day 7 as she didn’t need a stoma in the end 🙏🏼 Bless her. Someone is definitely looking after her up there! So thankful she’s ok. I’ve been so worried, and work wasn’t a big enough distraction, though I still managed to get plenty done.
My mum had the girls today and then text me asking if they were meant to be at a party. I said no, the party they’d been invited to is tomorrow, but then I checked the message from the mum and it said “3rd Jan” 🙈 I’ve got all my dates wrong! So I text the mum apologising and then my mum dropped them off. Will have to go back round tomorrow with the card & present as I’ve not even bought them yet 😆 Whoops.0 -
Good afternoon!
I used my NatWest CC today on food & fuel, so transferred the amount I spent to my Barclaycard. The balance is now £2,680.75 so it’s coming down slowly!
I’ve almost finished stripping the wallpaper 😊 Just a small amount left and then I need to get the walls prepped for painting.
My friend didn’t have a good night last night due to the pain, so the doctor has given her some stronger meds today. Apparently they’re stronger than morphine! I got her some new pjs and some snacks that I think she’ll be allowed to eat, so will give her them when I see her tomorrow x1 -
Hope everyone has been enjoying the snow! My friend got quite poorly this morning so she messaged me saying she wasn’t up for having visitors. Completely understandable. Will see how she is tomorrow or Tuesday and then will find another date for me to travel down to see her.
I've sold a cardigan for £6.00 so transferred it to the Barclaycard 😊 Total debt paid so far this month is now £339.95/£700.00.
Tomorrow is the girls’ last day before they go back to school. I think getting them up on Tuesday is going to be a struggle! They’ll be at their dad’s then though, so it’ll be his problem 😂😂
Off to cook our dinner x1 -
Hello!
I worked from home today as the girls were off school. Tomorrow will be my first day in the office in almost 3 weeks, and I’m not sure I’m ready for the 6am alarm and the inevitably frozen car 🥶😂 It’s not going to be fun, but it’ll be nice to see my colleagues 🙂 I have missed them!
I have signed up to do a sleep out next month to raise money for a homeless charity. I did it last year and the year before so this will be my 3rd time. I’m going to be doing it with one of my close friends. It’ll be her first time but she’ll be fine, she’s a tough cookie 😁 I’ve created the donation page and shared it around so hopefully donations will start coming in soon!
Moonpig e-mailed me a discount code and we’ve got 2 big birthdays coming up so I created some nice personalised cards for them 😊 Also got some cashback. Not a lot, but better than nothing!I had all good intentions of kick starting my “let’s clean up the diet” project today, but it didn’t quite go to plan. My aim is to eat less processed food, cut down on sugar (sugar addict here!), and eat better quality meat, fruit and veg, so I drove to the nice local farm shop after work to see what they had. I purposely didn’t go this weekend because I knew it would be really busy so wanted to wait until I knew it was quiet. Well, it was quiet, but also the shelves were almost bare! I’d never seen it so empty! So it was a bit of a fail, though I did get some nice chicken breasts. Will need to go again, maybe on a lunch break when I’m working from home 😊
The girls are with their dad now for a couple of nights. It’s nice that the rooms are tidy, but I miss them already 😢 Won’t be long before they’re back though 🥰
My friend is feeling a bit better apparently, which is a huge relief. I’m still not sure when I’ll see her, but I’ll try and get down there this week x1 -
Survived my first day back in the office! The alarm clock was brutal though 😂
The donations are flying in for the sleep out - we’re up to £75.00 already 😊 That’s a good amount considering we still have a month to go - previously the donations have been few and far between until the event, so I’m very pleased with this!
My friend is still being sick a fair bit so they’ve removed her naso-gastric tube to see if that helps. Really hope it does - feels like one step forward three steps back at the minute 😢 She was meant to be going home today but she is not well enough bless her. No visitors again for her today except her partner 😞
I’ve sold 2 more items so £7.50 is winging its way to the Barclaycard ☺️ £347.45/£700.00 - soooo close to the halfway mark!
I did a food shop on my way home from work and unsurprisingly, because I’m trying to be healthier, it was very expensive 🙄 Oh well, it’s worth it.I need to clean the kitchen now and then do some more work - the busy period has started! 🤪1
