Panny lcd, scart problem?

Hi,
We have a Panasonic LCD tv (just out of 12 months warantee).

We are having trouble with one of the scart sockets, anything we play through AV2 is black and white, on the odd occasion we get colour there appears to be interference.

I have tried various leads and harware (dvd player, playstation etc.) and it's the same result. Is there a setting I need to change, I've read the manual and can't find anything?
AV1 and AV2 are set the same on the tv menu:confused:

Thanks in advance;)

Hi, from memory I think AV2 on panas is switchable to S-video. When in this mode you get no colour and a fine interferance pattern running across pic. On earlier panas , when AV2 was selected, for a couple of seconds red/green/yellow/blue rectangles appeared on screen. By pressing the appropriate coloured fastext buttons you could switch between the various modes. Have not seen latest panas but hope this helps. -keith1950:j

Yes, does sound like it's now looking for S-Video, should be a setting to switch it back.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

  • NTSC playback to a PAL set would be in B/W

Yes, could be that too if the AV2 connection isn't RGB.
