Euro Car Parks and Sainsbury's - have I got a leg to stand on?

I was vaguely aware that parking in Sainsbury's car park (Kenilworth) might be restricted to 2 hours. My fault for not seeing the sign. I parked there recently as it was convenient for where I was going to a meeting nearby, though I did also pop into the store to buy a paper on my way back. However, my car was in there for over two and a half hours. Redacted PCN attached. I've written to the store manager to ask his compassion due to the nature of the meeting but if this fails I don't see I've got a leg to stand on - am I right?

It'll cost you nothing if you let them sue. ECP use DCB Legal who start claims then discontinue them when defended. A game of poker face where defendants pay nothing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Think about it; appealing to the manager for "compassion" when using his car park to go elsewhere was not a good idea, they have been persuaded by a private parking company that parking should be restricted for customers! You didn't need to say that, just apologise and say you were a customer, I think you threw plan A down the toilet!1
