Hi everyone,
It's been a busy week, I've not had a lot of time to post (or read come to that), Yorks Lass, a belated condolences from me on your loss.
Thursday was Nate day which is always a long day, leaving at 6.30am and not getting home till nearly 9,00pm. We visited a farm although he wasn't much interested in the animals, it's all about the tractors for him. It was a good day, but tiring.
Yesterday was another long day - L and B are house hunting so we went down to explore the area around Maidenhead and look at a few properties, today they are in Bristol although I really hope they don't end up so far away. The realisation is beginning to dawn as to the sort of place they will be able to afford in these areas so we will have to see what happens.
I'm stuck to the settee (and the loo) today because I have another colonoscopy tomorrow and am having to take the horrible drink every four hours until 8 tonight. If the last one had been done properly this wouldn't be needed and after finding out that it wasn't done by a doctor last time I have asked for and got repeated assurances that it will be done by a doctor, I don't want to have to go through this in another 3 months, 3 since April is enough for anyone.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all
Not bad weather wise but meant to get colder from tomorrow I have a wash on the go and will hang it out for a while. Housework to do this morning and then get the dogs out for a good long walk.
I found some mould spots on the wall in the bedroom which I have cleaned up but OH said he will get in the loft and check the insulation is tight to the edges he said if there is a gap it can cause a cold spot so he will check that today and put the new toilet seat on.
Yesterdays Japanese head spa was so lovely it’s was so relaxing and I had a facial and neck massage too she showed me photos of my scalp before - a lot of build up of product and squeaky clean after it is something I will do again for sure.
Dinner tonight will be a chicken and chorizo bake with peppers onions and mushrooms I might get some crusty bread to go with it, I will make it in a while and let it sit for a while in the fridge.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all, it's dull here. My it was cold last night and the gritter was out on our road so the council must have been expecting it to be icy. The lamb hotpot was delicious yesterday and just what the doctor ordered for a cold evening plus there's enough left over for another meal. Think we'll have something and chips for tonight, an easy tea.
Lunchtime yesterday Dad rang us in a flap saying that the care people had taken another payment out of his bank. He had even disturbed DD who was teaching at the time and she panicked because she thought it was an emergency. Anyway long story short the payments are correct as the carers had spanned over 2 months hence the 2 different amounts even though he kept saying they were only there for 2 weeks, er no, it was 7 weeks before he chose to cancel them !
This morning I have stripped the bed and the bedding is in the wm, I'll remake the bed later and I'll also put the winter quilt back on but I'll let the bed air for a bit first, that's my excuse 😁. There's no chance of hanging it out to dry as it's so grey and cold, bring back the sun from yesterday please.
Snoozer hope all goes well for tomorrow and that L&B find the right house but not too far away.
Redruby glad you enjoyed the spa.
Yorkslass hello, nice to meet you. I'm sorry that you've had such an awful year and condolences on the loss of your DH. Many hugs.
Right wm has finished, as has my cuppa so better get myself in gear.
Take care all

@snoozer - Fingers crossed the colonoscopy goes well this time.
@nannywindow - You have my sympathies with your DF's antics. I was a carer for my late DF who had dementia and remember only too well how tiring and frustrating it was at times.
So far I've achieved not a lot. Breakfast, tonight's curry made, wash up, rubbish put out, bed re-made and next week's cash purse sorted. It's still a bit chilly out but lovely sunshine and a gentle breeze, so I'm going to get wrapped up and go for a walk. No destination in mind, just some time outside in the fresh air with a bit of exercise thrown in.Be kind to others and to yourself too.10
