Insuring hearing aids

I live in a house which is not my own. I know it’s well insured, as part of the rent I pay it, anyway I have a pair of hearing aids valued at £4000 how should these be insured for loss or damage either inside or out
Is there any insurance who offer this type of cover

Are the contents also insured or just the building?
You will just need to check they are insured, either by naming them on the current policy or your own contents policy, or get specialist insurance (I've just google and boots offer it for example).

Have you asked the company that provided it if they offer specific insurance as I believe Boots does (other hearing aid providers are available 😂)

Do you have contents insurance? I had a private hearing aid to try out for a few weeks. I rang Direct Line and added them to my contents policy.

Yes there is a good insurance on the house: house, contents and accident,  but as the insurance is in the other persons name can I add an item which is obviously a personal item,

Are you family to the buyer of the insurance or a lodger? Are you declared on the policy?

Contents typically covers everyone in the property unless a HMO, lodgers etc. If you need to "add" the item will depend on the single article limit, cheap policies need anything over £1,000 declared inside or outside the home and will cause an additional premium. Good insurance can cover items up to £15,000 without declaration but they'd still need to ensure the maximum personal possession/all risks cover is high enough to consider everything thats take out the home at the same time inc the hearing aids.
