I have an Alexa and sound not very good so I want to upgrade.
If I get a newer version of it, can I just plug it in to make it work or is it more complicated?
I had to get help to install the one I have now, lol!

I have the similar Google devices and have found by getting a second one, then configuring them as a stereo pair, gives a significantly better sound. You do that via the App and I assume Alexa will be similar.
If you have an older version Echo Dot you could probably pick up an identical one on Gumtree for a tenner or less.
Not a hi fi system by any means but it depends of whether you are looking to spend petty cash or a more significant sum!1 -

I had to get help to install the one I have now, lol!You have to link it to your Amazon account. They come with a little instruction sheet that tells you how to do it.You will need to log into your Amazon account.Keep watching Amazon, they will be dropping the prices to shift some surplus stock offer great Pre-Christmas deals for the Black Friday seasonI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

If you buy it from Amazon, it will come pre-setup for you unless you tick the box not to.0

The sound quality of later Echo Dots is considerably improved.0

The alternative is to buy a speaker that you plug into your existing Dot.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Beyond a very minimal level the only thing that matters is the loudspeakers. A few year ago I bought a £20 Bluetooth amplifier (the size of a fag packet) and connected it to an old pair of proper speakers. It seems a better approach to me.0
