Vanquis Card arrived, not sure I can use it yet?

Hi,
I recently applied for a Vanquis credit card, did all the checks they asked me to do and uploaded my driving license etc
It says I was approved and that the card was on the way.
It arrived today so I logged on to the app with it and I thought I was okay to start using it, I was going to transfer some money into my debit account for a bill but it won't let me tap on the 'transfer money' option, there was no option on online banking either.
Then I realised I had another letter from them saying 'Lets finalise your application' saying they need more information so they can 'continue to process the application'
So now I'm confused, why have I got the card and it's let me put it into my apple wallet if my application isn't finalised?
What I'm wondering is will it still work in the shops? I'm scared to try in case it declines

-Also worth adding when I applied they said they could offer me a £500 credit limit which was fine with me but then in a text they sent me they told me my credit limit was going to be £2500 and now on the banking app it says £2500 available credit, this letter they've sent me mentions they need the information to 'Get the credit I deserve' ?

Try and pay a quid off something online, like your electric account, see if it works. No embarrassment if it doesnt.
No embarrassment at self service tills either, just whip another card out. Not sure why you need to be "scared".0 -

I've had cards declined occasionally - usually for some very mundane reason. The cashiers at stores are so used to seeing this they won't care as long as you have another method to pay for what you're buying.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. What did the letter state what the card was attached to? Normally there is some form of activation on the card, sometimes its done in the app, sometimes its calling a number, other times its simply doing a Chip & Pin transaction.0
