Balance transfer to wife's card from husband's card?

My wife has a 0% interest Balance Transfer offer on a credit card in her name.
I have a different bank's credit card on which she has a secondary card?
As far as I am aware, a BT to her credit card should only come from another bank's credit card in her name. It shouldn't come from a card in my name or a third party's name.
However, when doing a BT request on her card, it only asks for the £amount and the 16 digit number. It doesn't ask for the name on the card.
We don't want to risk the BT failing or bouncing as we have more than enough cash to settle my card in full. This is all part of stoozing and we don't want to risk paying any interest for a failed or reversed payment.
Could we use her secondary card number, which is in her name albeit on my account and my responsibility. Would that work or would my card provider bounce the payment as she is not the account holder.
If we use my card number, how likely is it to fail due to it being in my name?
Anecdotally I know others have successfully done BTs from one person's card to another person;e card.
I have two weeks to go before the due date on my card so we could do the BT now which gives me enough time to pay by other means if it fails or gets reversed.
Thanks

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

I would definitely not use the secondary card number as that will almost certainly fail
as you say, anecdotally people have done a balance transfer from different people's names so if I were you I would just go ahead and try it out
I doubt if you will get a definitive yes/no here anyway1 -
My OH and I both have CCs in our own names with the other as the second card holder. It has made absolutely no diffference in the last 20 years whose card I've used to do BTs to another account. Mine to his, his to mine, no difference. Frankly I don't think the CC companies care as they are getting their nice fee.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Some banks care, others dont -v- the good old days when they had no way to check.Belenus said:However, when doing a BT request on her card, it only asks for the £amount and the 16 digit number. It doesn't ask for the name on the card.
Havent needed to do too many BTs in recent years thankfully but there are some banks who still dont care but there are some that do. Enter the primary card number, they'll instantly tell you if they are going to reject because the balance carrying card isn't in the right name.1 -
Hubby tried a balance transfer with nationwide on to my card and it was rejected because it wasn't his card. Instead he did a money transfer and paid my card that way.1

Its all guesswork answering this, as the OP hasn't stated which credit card it is, so we don't know the T&Cs.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?2

Thanks for the replies.
We will try a BT from my account using my 16 digit number and see what happens.A man walked into a car showroom.

I did the transfer from my card to my wife's card an hour ago. It appeared to go through normally. As today, Sunday, is not a normal working day, it won't be actioned until Monday.
I will update this thread on the outcome in a few days which ever way it goes.
