Admiral like nearly all insurers these days will insist that you use GHIC as a first choice for your healthcover in Europe, it will be in your policy book. It is up to you whether GHIC and the insurance cover you already have meets your needs..... Be aware though everything you have asked the insurer in relation to this will have been well and truly noted.
I know exactly what you mean in terms of things being noted, hence I am now resigned to look for a standalone winter cover for single days or a week instead of the whole holiday. That may come cheaper than Admiral.

We all have GHIC and always had it. We used it for the little one a few years back, it was a surreal experience but the staff at the hospital were great.
  • Interested to know how you got on with that. I've been told by my annual policy insurers - PayingTooMuch that I need to book whole new policy for the duration of the trip (2 week cruise with just 2 x 45 min snowboarding/ husky sledding) even though I’m covered for the cruise part already.
