Just to add; when I submitted my wage slips, they had about a £100 worth of overtime on them. The slip also showed my basic pay which is approx. £600 a month.

Did the council tax official(s) take the overtime on board when seeing if I'm eligible for a discount?

Not very fair if they did because it's not every month it's available.

I replied back to them about 6 days ago, so I'll just wait to hear their response.
  • Hi all.

It's been 2 weeks since I notified the Council about their error, and as of yet I've had no response.

Do you think I should submit a new application and start from the beginning again?

    No, give them more time
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales
  • Reading back the rejection letter, it says any appeal against the decision must be signed by myself.

I notified the Council online because it seemed that was the most quickest way of doing this.

Was I correct in doing so? I feel it wasn't since I've had no response for nearly a month.

Can you upload a copy of the rejection letter suitably redacted please

Unfortunately I wouldn't know how to do that via my phone.

But basically it says my claim will remain active for 17 weeks and to report any changes in that time.

If after that period nothing happens, then I'd need to submit a new application.

I'm going to email them and see what happens.
