Heathrow Drop off £35 pcn

I had a hire car for a week and dropped off my son at terminal 3. Haven't dropped off anyone in years. So you can imagine my huge surprise receiving an email from hire company saying they won't pay and I would have to pay the £35 charge. Upon investigating I see there is a £5 charge by APOCA. so 7 times the original fee! I would question how they estimate that cost.
I was there under 5 mins and not what I would call parked.
I have read on here how to appeal but cannot see anything as I am not the registered keeper of the car so wondering what would be the best course?
I just think it is day light robbery, I would pay but it is principle and with everything else we have to pay extra for these days I kinda want to refuse it.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
Dan

You can only appeal it is the PCN is in your name and not simply a copy of the Notice to Keeper (NtK) from the hire company. If they've done their job properly, they will have transferred liability to you, the Hirer and APCOA will have sent you a Notice to Hirer (NtH) in your name.
Double check before you waste time trying to appeal a PCN that is not in your name.1 -
Your path back is explained in my signature under every post I make, including the one you replied to. I hope that people read it and learn how to hop around. We really hate giving links which simply involve normal navigating of a forum but because we know most posters are new, my signature tells you.DanPGgold said:
