Hi
In the throws of moving house .
Our buyers solicitor has asked us to have an indemnity policy for our oil boiler cos we have no installation certificate.
Boilers only 9 yrs old and has a full service history.
I read these policies are not worth the paper they are written on.
The boiler was put in by a fully qualified heating engineer when we moved in it was guaranteed for the first five years we have the service book saying when it was installed is this what they mean by an installation certificate.
The company has finished trading now but we have another heating engineer that services it every year.
Should we just pay for the policy to keep the buyers happy 😃 your thoughts please.

How much is the indemnity policy? Most things that arent the paper they're written on at least tend to be cheap.
Depends on how hardball you to play... willing to lose this buyer to avoid needing to buy the insurance?1 -
Normally, that is the sort of thing that the buyer would pay if they want such a thing. Not the vendor.
