Car insurance Claim Query.
Options
Hi.
Have a query regarding a claim on my company car . . .
Have a query regarding a claim on my company car . . .
Long story short we were on a car park in my company car, my son opened the door onto another car and dented the drivers door . . She was in the car, we swapped details and the businesses insurance are sorting it. . .
Will I need to declare this as a fault claim for myself on our personal car insurance? I can understand if I was at fault then yes but if it’s the passenger at fault on works insurance will I still need to declare it in my name?
thank you

Probably yes you will have to declare it.
The question asked is usually along the lines of “have you made a claim in the last X years”
You would be answering yes0 -
Yes, it will be recorded against your name as the driver at the time.0

Note also that - if on a road rather than a car park - both the passenger and driver may be committing a criminal offence.
"No person shall open, or cause or permit to be opened, any door of a vehicle on a road so as to injure or endanger any person."0 -

Was anybody really in danger of being injured?
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
