Faulty ebike refund query

So I purchased an ebike from Halfords in May for £1800.

August come around and the bike developed a fault so I took it into store to be fixed, Told me they would order a part this never happened due to issue with the manufacturer.

In October I got a call that they needed to run some test for the manufacturer to confirm the fault and order the replacement. Had no update so on Monday I went into store for an update to be told nothing had happened.

To cut a story short I made a complaint to the Chief executives office who got back to me a day later apologising. They have a offered me a brand new replacement bike and a good will gesture.

Since I paid for the bike mostly with gift cards that I got via my work place and £10 on my credit card. If I was to request a refund would I have to expect this in the form of a gift and and card payment? Or could I potentially get a full refund under section 75?

If you got a refund it would be in the same manner in which you paid - i.e. mainly onto give cards.

If you were offered a refund, you wouldn't be able to make a claim under S75 - even if you didn't like the channel of the return (i.e. the cards).

The retailer is entitled one attempt at repair or replacement - which sounds like what they're doing now.  If the replacement bike also fails, then you could insist on a refund - though it would likely be a partial refund with deductions for use.
