Sitching to fixed energy with same supplier
Hi, I have just used the very helpful energy tool on Martin's website. It suggests that fixing my energy contract is a good move. Under my options, some show casjh-back, including the fixed option from my existing supplier. This suggests that I would receive the cash-back. I would expect, though, that the cash-back is only for customers who switch supplier. If that's the case, I should probably go direct to my supplier rather than using the tool. Or am I missing something? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.Unfortunately it's unlikely that you'll qualify if you're not a new customer, regardless how you change tariff. Read your supplier's small print to get the details.0

There's nothing to stop you switching to your current supplier's fixed tariff to save yourself some money, but I also agree that it's unlikely you'd also be able to get cashback on top of that. The switching cashback is usually reserved for new customers when you actually change suppliers.1

In the past I've seen cashback for switching to a fixed tariff with same supplier but there has always been exit fees on that tariff.
