Having trouble with Trading 212 too MSE says open online or via App, what they really mean is open  online and via APP it requires both the verification won't proceed without the latter. Frustrating.

I've been trying to open a Moneybox cash ISA. I want to transfer-in from an existing one, so feel very suspicious that they want me to up a direct debit?
Is it safe or even logical to set this up to transfer-in a different cash ISA?
Having searched the internet extensively there do seem to be many concerns about confusion in their processes?
This is the first time I've used a banking app, are they all as tricky as this one?
It's making me angry that a good rate is advertised yet making it happen is tortuous.

The direct debit wouldn't be used for the transfer, but for any subsequent account funding.
