Thermacoil unvented hot water system

Options
Hello
We have this system and although the cylinder is insulated to retain the heat, the cupboard it is stored in is massively hot.  Whilst this operates as a useful source of background heat in winter, is it right?  Ive rung thermacoil and they say it does run hot and it isnt necessarily a problem.
There site offers a G3 repair visit for £399.  Its a lot.  Has anyone used a good london based G3 engineer for a 'service' or look over check on a similar system that they can recommend

What do you define as 'massively hot'? Can you put  a thermometer in there and get a reading before you spend money on an engineer?

We have a not dissimilar Joule unvented cylinder in a small boiler room off the landing. The boiler is also in there. They were installed a year ago.

The room does get warm but not excessively so.

I insulated all the pipes carrying hot water with pipe insulation. That made a small difference.

I think the wasted heat in warmer weather is trivial compared to the savings we make on an efficient modern condensing boiler and well insulated hot water tank.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

A hot water cylinder will typically lose around 2kWh of heat per day. One way to reduce this is to turn the tank thermostat down - Being a sealed system, you can quite safely go down to 45°C without any real risk of legionella (if you have any concerns, a weekly boost to 60°C will ensure the tank remains clean). Another advantage of running a cooler tank is less gas (or electricity) is needed to maintain the temperature. If you are using gas, the boiler won't need to work as hard, and the flow temperature can be dialed back to save even more gas.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

What brand and model is it? The Fabdec Thermocoil cylinder is an open vented direct electric heated cylinder, but there are other brands with similar sounding names.

G3 is for unvented cylinders, but I don't know of any unvented cylinders called Thermocoil.
