Having a credit card registered at a different address to my home address

in Credit cards
Bit of a weird question I suppose but I still have a credit card registered at my Mams address even though I moved out years ago!
I was going to change it to my address but are there any implications pros and cons in doing so like will it affect credit scores or anything - its doing no harm and my mams going nowhere except in a box but hopefully not for a while yet.
Or am I breaking the law or something fraudulent !!!!!
Cheers

You arent breaking the law, you may be breaching the terms of your credit card but you'd need to read the T&Cs to see if you must provide them your home address or if you must provide them with an address you can be contacted at.
Your credit file at the moment will show you living at two addresses because each credit provider reports what they hold as your current address. Clearly, or maybe hopefully, you are only registered to vote at one address and so prospective lenders may wonder why what the second address is about or they may decide its good as they now have two addresses they can send the bailiffs to if you default.1 -
Pros: Your creditors will know where to reach you and you will therefore not miss any important communication. You will remain within the terms and conditions that you agreed to.
Cons: None
FYI You do not have a credit score.0 -
Hi thanks for the replies I've had no problems getting contacted as the letters go to my mams and she passes them on but its all done via the web now anyway. I've been like this for 25 years and had no problems but I think I'll register to my new address now its about time!!!
@MEM62 I meant my credit score at my current address persona it wouldnt affect that would it by suddenly adding another card. Its got a 20k limit and roughly £100 on it currently.0 -

If your credit card account is that old, it's quite possible it predates CRAs, so therefore doesn't report to them.
This may be why it hasn't caused a problem. Whether it might cause a problem in future, might depend upon whether you open any other accounts with that organisation.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -

Not that there's anything wrong with that, as such, but why rock the boat? And it's "neater", from a lender's point of view, if the address they hold for you is the same one shown on the ER. Again, it shouldn't really be an issue in most cases, but overall there's no reason not to have everything registered correctly, it'll just make life simpler in the long run.

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
