I argued that the parcel weight clearly shows that not all items were packed but they have disregarded it.
I have raised chargeback with my bank, but as HoF rejected the claim and the refund has not been paid to me.
Now 6 months later I’ve received an email from NBCS requesting that I pay over £300 for their losses or they will pursue the claim in the county court...GrumpyDil said:Presumably they have still got their money as the chargeback was denied so how did they get from over 150 to 300 though?Mags2988 said:GrumpyDil said:Presumably they have still got their money as the chargeback was denied so how did they get from over 150 to 300 though?
How have they itemised their losses?
Have you asked them?
Are you sure this £300 claim is related to your £150 purchase, or is it something else?
Why would you be paying £300 if you owe them nothing?
I don't understand...
They’ve sent me picture of 5 items on a table as an evidence that all were packed sealed and sent to me… I can send them picture of 4 items I’ve received and tell them that I’ve returned them to HoF…. Would they accept it? No do I won’t accept this as an evidence…
ive requested full cctv recording, but apparently they no longer have it…(very convenient for them)
ive read some dreadful comments on trust pilot so i know I’m not the only person going through this
i hope that some tv/newspaper will highlight this issue as it’s unbelievable how company of this size can bully and threaten customers like this
Are you 100% certain that HoF successfully challenged the chargeback and that you weren't refunded?
I ask because there's another thread on here where another poster got a chargeback from Sports direct (part of the same group) and Sports direct never bothered to challenge it. However, NBCS are now threatening to sue that other poster on Sport Direct's behalf.
I think if I were you I'd doublecheck all the financial transactions in respect of this purchase and threatened court claim.
If NBCS do end up suing you, but you can show evidence that you've paid for everything you received, I don't see how they can win.

You have my sympathy dealing with Fraser Group, my own issue took the best part of 12 months to resolve. The part of the group I ordered from, Studio, which happened during the change to Fraser Group. It would have, for me, been easier to just continually head butt a wall than try dealing with Fraser Group. It was me reading a post on here that lead me to a consumer action forum and the help I got on there helped me to get my issue resolved.I hope you are able to get a resolution to your issue.2

literally first time ordered from them and this has happened…
I’m hoping that trading standards will look into it as I don’t seem to be the only one treated like this.
Some stories on trustpilot are just unbelievable!0 -

NBSC don't take you to court but the paperwork comes from them from the person/company that is taking you to the small claims court process.
I would fill out the claim form asap and file it online or post asap. If you don't the claimant will win by default and you get a CCJ will make it nearerly impossible to get credit for 6 years.
leaglebeagles is a good website to go for this type of thing. I think that's the correct address.0 -

This thread in particular might be a good place to start:
https://legalbeagles.info/forums/forum/legal-forums/court-claims-and-issues/received-a-court-claim/letter-before-action/1633940-nbcs-threatening-court-action-on-behalf-of-house-of-fraser
'NBCS threatening court action on behalf of House of Fraser.'
The thread includes legal arguments why NBCS's clumsy attempt at a claim is technically flawed regarding pre-action protocols as well as a sample solicitor's letter challenging them to put up or shut up (if you can be bothered to reply at all).
Although the thread goes back several years to 2022, NBCS have not so far actually followed up on their threats to any of the posters who have replied.
NBCS have a maximum of 6 years to actually start a court claim. After that, if you have not acknowledged the debt during that period, it becomes statute barred1 -
Hi,Hope you are doing well. I received an email from this firm NBCS asking me to pay £280 for the parcel that I have returned to them and provided them with a return receipt. I was wondering if you could help with your experience dealing this firm and whether I should be paying them or not. Thanks0
