If you don't have an SD card for additional storage, get one and move as many apps as possible to that.
There are almost no apps you can do that to now. You can use it to store photos an videos though.

yes I agree apps are very small in size anyway the thing you are most likely to want to move to an SD card are photos and videos

Since the OP hasn't managed to answer the fairly fundamental question "what model of phone do you have" it would be hard to recommend this action.

Phones, especially newer/higher-end, often do not have SD card support.

When they do, the phone manufacturers and often the app suppliers do not allow apps to be installed on them - they are too slow to allow proper operation and far less robust that internal storage which these days can often be 128GB or more even on modest phones.

I agree - the key to this is finding out exactly what is cluttering up the phone and deciding if everything needs to be there
  • About 5 or 6 years ago (maybe more?) phone internal memory was so small that the OS and modern apps could use 80% of the space without any photos. So if OPs phone is an old one, the only solution is to buy a new one,
If more modern, the photos and videos should be being backed up by Google anyway, so local storage can be emptied.

Google backup was introduced in Android 6, though IIRC it took an update to Google Play to activate it.  Android 6 was released in 2015.
