yes I agree apps are very small in size anyway the thing you are most likely to want to move to an SD card are photos and videos0

Phones, especially newer/higher-end, often do not have SD card support.
When they do, the phone manufacturers and often the app suppliers do not allow apps to be installed on them - they are too slow to allow proper operation and far less robust that internal storage which these days can often be 128GB or more even on modest phones.2 -
I agree - the key to this is finding out exactly what is cluttering up the phone and deciding if everything needs to be there0

About 5 or 6 years ago (maybe more?) phone internal memory was so small that the OS and modern apps could use 80% of the space without any photos. So if OPs phone is an old one, the only solution is to buy a new one,
If more modern, the photos and videos should be being backed up by Google anyway, so local storage can be emptied.0 -
