My own experience of a trust is why bother. My son is a so called beneficiary of a discretionary trust but by law the trustees don’t have to legally tell us anything. It was sold by an unscrupulous professional IFA or solicitor to an elderly relative who trusted a so called professional who has died and left a real mess for the remaining trustees to keep managing, the tax implications are insanely stupid unless you are fortunate to actually be in the lucky position of being in the wealthy elite who would actually benefit from trusts. I 100% agree a warning should come with them.0
