New Windows 11 laptop coming to replace a Chromebook, so I'm wondering if it might be worth swapping to Edge rather than continuing to use Chrome. What might I gain by so doing - or lose?

Send back the windows 11 laptop and upgrade your Chromebook if required.0

Edge is built on the same engine (Chromium) as the Chrome browser. The skin and some features are different but essentially its the same.
Windows 11 can make it a pain to change some of the default actions away from Edge but on the whole installing Chrome will work without any issues.
Personally I wouldn't use either and would install a browser (still Chromium based) with more personal security in mind like Brave Browser.
Its a personal choice really.2 -
Use whatever browser you like.Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera, Seamonkey...1

Brave browser gives more control of things like ads and tracking.
https://brave.com/ and if you got to the bottom there are comparisons with other browsers

Edge has been built on the open-source Chromium code for years. Been using Edge for years too, it just works seamlessly with Windows.0
