Will I get the basic State pension?

Hi all.
I've been working part-time for nearly 25 years and haven't paid any tax or national insurance in that time.
If I continue in that set-up and reach pensionable age, would I qualify automatically for a state pension?
If not, what kind of help will be available financially when I'm 70+?
Thanks.

No, the "basic" State Pension ended in 2016 for new pensioners.Conrad3000 said:Hi all.

You will be entitled to the "new" State Pension.
The amount of State Pension you will be entitled to will depend on your NI history . Paying NI (or tax) isn't always a factor.
You can check your personal entitlement on gov.uk.
NB. In case you were wondering having 35 years NI is not relevant to you.

In theory if you don't qualify for a minimum state pension amount you would be entitled to claim Pension Credit to bring your income up to that minimum amount, but that's based on things as they are now. Nobody knows what the benefits landscape will look like when you reach retirement age1

I've tried doing it online. Registered and put passport details, then they ask for another proof of ID, which I don't have. So I never get through the process.KxMx said:0 -
Applying online is the quickest way to get a forecast. If you’ll reach your State Pension age in more than 30 days you can also:
- fill in the BR19 application formand send it by post
- call the Future Pension Centrewho will post the forecast to you

Depending on what they estimate also check the pension credit to cover shortfall1
