I'm not sure how you can prove it was you driving at the time. Nevertheless, tell them it was yourself driving but don't offer any more information than what they ask for. They don't usually cancel for a one-off indiscretion unless it's extreme, there's usually a warning first for it not to happen again.

On Monday 11th November 2024, my good friend Jon Anderson (Hollies father) asked me if I was able to take a look at Hollies car (Fiat 500 ) as on it had been leaking coolant. I agreed to help and asked if the car could be dropped off to my house at the above address for me to take a look at it. I have many years in the motor trade and know my way around engines, so if I was able to help diagnose the issue it could give Hollie and her father an idea of what is wrong with the car and what to do next. The car was dropped off to my house on Monday11/11 around 6pm, enabling me to take a quick look on Tuesday on my lunch break (as I work from home some days employed by a well know automotive brand as an engineer), so around 11am I started to investigate the vehicle on my driveway. As I required the engine and coolant system to get hot, I decided to drive the vehicle around the block of my home address. At this point I was unable to identify where the leak was coming from still so decided to drive the vehicle to a friend of mine who has a garage (Reality Autos) for him to take a look with me to help. We were unable to diagnose an issue still except for a very small leak under the engine, which over time would drain the coolant system, so the advice to Hollie was to keep topping up the coolant and keep an eye on engine temperatures, I believe I was back at my house for around 1.30pm the same day.
Hollie has informed me of the speed I was travelling at during this period of time advised to her from your black box tracking device, I cannot confirm or deny this is correct but if It is true, I admit is down to my own incompetence, as I can confirm I was the person driving that vehicle at the time, not Hollie or anyone else for that matter. Hollie left the vehicle in my possession on a private driveway to the understanding the vehicle would stay on my drive, at no point did I request permission to drive the vehicle.
Hollie then collected the vehicle that night around 5.30pm.

I am a vehicle engineer and a good friend of your policyholder's father. The insured vehicle had developed a coolant leak and I was asked to look at the vehicle as a favour. The vehicle was dropped off to me at circa 18:00 on 11/11 and collected by the policyholder at 17:30 on 12/11.
Whilst the vehicle was with me I took it for a test drive as a leak can at times be easier to detect when the engine is warm. I've been made aware that Holly has received notification of the speeding from you whilst the vehicle was in my control and during the approximate time of the test drive. I confirm that I, not your policyholder, was the driver at the time.
Kind regards
