Faulty goods

My nearly year old watch has been deemed faulty by the jewellers where I purchased it from. They are offering me an exchange watch which I'm happy with. I also have a 3 year insurance policy for the watch, sold to me by the same jewellery shop. I had to claim on the policy about 3 months ago for new glass as I dropped it and cracked the glass. As I've claimed on my policy in the past, insurance company refuse to refund me for the policy, so I will have a new watch but loose out on 2 years worth of insurance cover.

I can see why the insurance company would be reluctant to refund a policy in these circumstances, but if the jeweller has accepted that the watch was faulty and are replacing it then IMHO the jeweller should arrange (and fund) a further couple of years of insurance cover if the existing policy isn't transferable to the replacement watch.
