British gas billing migration

Has anybody had problems with British Gas bill migration. From the old billing system I was owed money which they sent me as a cheque. Now they have brought forward that money as a debit. 9 calls later everyone has explained what has happened but nobody has done a thing about it. Is it wrong for me to ask for it to be cleared to zero and have my bill of £48 for this month wiped off due to the anxiety and stress it has caused me. I was informed on the phone that this was being passed to debt collectors which was a shock as British gas have already stated I do not owe them money. I am completely at the end of my tether. Help please.

Loads of posts on here about similar. They have truly messed up what should have been a relatively simple task, migrating a database to a new system. Raise a formal complaint and escalate to the ombudsman if necessary, likely the only way to get any sense out of them.Jameswilliams123 said:Has anybody had problems with British Gas bill migration.
