Task bar width

Hi, can anyone help please
I've hit something and the task bar has doubled in width and I don't know how to get it back to normal, any ideas?

put the cursor over the top edge, click and drag it down

Then it doesn't reduce the width, it just hides half the icons

are you saying it is at the bottom across the whole length of the screen in the normal place, and it is 2 lines deep instead of one?

Actually this is exactly what has happened to mine. Its across the bottom and double width and will not drag back to normal size. I've tried all the properties and nothing has helped.

I can't ask the techie team at work either because if they get their hands on it they will change the setup - its set up to allow me to install programmes which they say it shouldn't be. (this set up was done by my boss who is technically their boss too!)

So have you Locked the Taskbar so that it can't happen again?
