Hi All
First off I don’t know all the laws and I’ve been trying to educate myself on this website but I’m finding it pretty difficult. So I got a PCN from Smart Parking. Firstly, my wife was driving, the letter is addressed to my old maiden surname, it’s a double barrel surname now so legally I’m no longer that person. Is this relevant?
My wife said she parked at Home Bargains and did shopping and then they needed to pop over to Aldi to look for something so shopping took a bit longer than usual.

To top it off our toddler needed the loo so she was on the potty in the car and she over stayed the 90 mins. She was 15 mins over the 90 min allowance.
what should I be doing with this? I detest these companies and kinda got scared into paying one back when Covid was around.
They sent me a PCN and it was ignored, they then sent debt collector letters and what not 6 years later. Sadly I paid them. They must’ve been clutching at straws to pull through those tough times.
Thanks for your help

You never had to pay the debt collector one.
This one is easy. You appeal as keeper, using the words posted in any other Smart Parking thread. Do a quick forum search.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
