Leaking waste water pipe joint

Hi,
The small waste water pipe going into the larger soil stack pipe is dripping. I removed and reinstalled and even put some PTFE tape on it but it still leaks a bit. The rubber join seems in decent condition but it just doesn’t seem to seat right, or even if I do it just pops out again after a while.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks.

PTFE wont do anything. You could look at sealing it with something like https://www.toolstation.com/ct1-adhesive-sealant/p85802I have used it many times.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
It's hard for us to know without seeing it close-up, but I cannot see PTFE tape helping much in this case.I'd clean every part up thoroughly, check that it appears to be the correct size, and try a reassembly. Monitor it, and see what part is actually causing the problem; is it that the gasket is slipping out, or is it the pipe?Is the gasket damaged, worn, or perished, or is it perhaps the wrong size?Whichever is the culprit - sounds like the gasket from what you said - I'd either get a replacement, or I'd stick that one back in with a smear of StixAll or similar. Let it set, and then push in the waste pipe.0

You need a new rubber boss adaptor. Don't glue it in, just make sure the branch is clean. Tape is a waste of time for an old one. Plumber's mate would be a better option if you want to use the old one.1

I agree with the above, you're better off getting a new boss connection fitted rather than bodging it with sealer which is only ever a temporary fix.0
