Is the wall under the stairs a supporting wall, it has bricks in it, can it be removed. Also can the door frame be removed as well?

Looks like there is a 90° turn at the top of the stairs. Whilst you can get away with removing the door, you don't want to be removing the larger (4x4?) timber post - This will be supporting the staircase.Never, ever remove a wall (even a stud wall) without consulting a structural engineer - I have a similar type of staircase in my home, and the wall at the end is a mix of brick & studwork. Removing any of it runs the risk of the staircase collapsing or the floor of the box room at the top of the stairs failing. In answer to your question - It may be possible to remove the wall, but only after seeking the advice of a qualified structural engineer. Do not rely on the opinion of Bob the Builder or some random on the internet. oh, and you'll probably need Building Control sign-off if you go ahead.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
